The Bel Air Mansion
This has been one of the most famous houses owned by Elon Musk, justifying his prosperity and grandeur, he bought this mansion in 2012 for $17 million.
This Grand House was situated in the most affluent neighbourhood of Bel Air in Los Angeles. And the size? 50 times bigger than his current house, spreading over an area of 20,000 square feet, with multiple bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, equipped with a home theatre and high views of the city.
Musk sold this property in 2020, while downsizing his investments.
The ‘Twin Palms’ Estate
Later on Musk purchased a property in 2016, this home was in Palm Springs, California. This was a mid-century home designed by the famous architect Donald Wexler.
This house had 5 bed rooms, a swimming pool, and a big outdoor space for welcoming the guests or hosting occasions and entertaining guests.
This house was also sold in 2020.
Gene Wilder’s house
The house that once Gene Wilder owned was purchased by Elon Musk in 2013 for a sum of $6.75 million. Although after acquiring rather than making it a home he transformed this property into a stunning school AdAstra. In his words, Elon purchased this property to “preserve the spirit of Gene Wilder”. This school was for his own children and of the SpaceX and Tesla Employees.
Later this property was also sold, on the condition that the buyer must not harm the house’s reflection of Gene, or tear it down.

The Brentwood House
This house was quite unique for its boomerang shaped design. Floor to ceiling windows maintained a connection to nature while Privacy hedges secured the property. Elon acquired this house in 2014 and fun fact, He had to pay only $3.4 million for this uniquely designed property. In 2019 this property was sold for $4 million.
Hillsborough Estate
There is also a large estate in Hillsborough, that was once owned by Musk, this “events house” was built on 47 acres of land with 9 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
The Architectural layout was exquisite with hiking trails, and a reservoir in the property which shows Elon’s passion for nature integrated property.
